It’s like without you, I’m so empty. But without me, you’re just fine.

To say it has been a rough week would be an understatement.
I’ve been struggling to find words to put friends at ease. Trying to make everything better, trying to be strong. Now I feel like I’m falling apart.
Manatee baby. All the other kids trick or treat as tigers or elephants, nope He’s Manatee! bitches!
One year when I worked at the zoo during weekends in october they had halloween themed activities and invited guests to dress in costume. I was working at the stingray exhibit when a little boy came in with is mothe. He had on a costume that was not instantly recognizable. The front of the costume was white with six horizontal lines going acros the chest. The back was gray and went up over his head and formed a point. He was carrying what looked like a tail. After looking at the costume for a while I realized he was a stingray! He explained to me that stingrays were his favorite animal and that his grandma had hand sewn the costume for him. His mom told me that he had fallen in love with rays after coming to the zoo earlier that spring. It was heartwarming. I was a roving naturalist at the time and the most important task our team was given each day was to inspire conservation leadership. That day I felt like we had really done our job. It was truly rewarding.
